Louis Pax Share New Single ‘Ophelia’
Swedish pop band Louis Pax, consisting of lead singer Oscar Reingsdahl, his brother Gustav Reingsdahl on guitar, friends Hannes Tingfors on bass, and Hannes Pennsäter on drums, have just shared their brand new single Ophelia, a bright, feel-good indie-pop song.
What I like the most about this song is how expressive Oscar Reingsdahl's vocals are, soaring beautifully over the upbeat production. Ophelia pays homage to the old synth sounds and classic melodies of the 80s but also takes inspiration in the sound and lyrics from bands that dominated the scene in the early 2000s. This catchy song tells the story of Ophelia, a modern-day, independent woman plagued by the wrong-doings of her lover, which causes her to act out and be seen as a little “mad” to the rest of the world. It's a song about not giving a damn about society's norms, not being afraid to show one's true colours to the world. This uplifting anthem is wrapped around a polished production with cool guitars seamlessly intertwined with steady drum patterns and catchy synths that create an overall warm, feel-good atmosphere that oozes carefree summer vibes.
