Scarlett Flynn Shares New Single ‘Sour In The Sun’

Canadian singer and songwriter Scarlett Flynn, co-creator and co-lead vocalist of Running Red Lights, is stepping into the spotlight for her solo debut with the release of her single Sour in the Sun, the lead single to be taken from her forthcoming EP, Living is Hell.

I am really enjoying the somewhat eclectic vibes I am getting with this production that sounds smooth and dreamy at times before bursting with attitude and energy. I am particularly fond of her evocative, passionate vocal delivery and how it effortlessly draws our attention to her relatable storytelling. I am also really enjoying the catchy percussive elements that are seamlessly intertwined with lush strings and cool electronics that create an overall warm atmosphere with a haunting/sombre vibe perfect for an introspective day home alone.

Accompanying the release, Scarlett Flynn has shared its official, captivating music video, directed by Eunice Keitan, which effortlessly embodies the song's atmosphere and makes it stand out even more! Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Scarlett Flynn said,
I was a begetter, a creator, a hustler and a health nut and then COVID happened and I fell under the thumb of the addict, the saboteur, the loafer and the self-hater. ‘Sour in the Sun’ is as honest as I can get to the recounting of my struggle to fight the worst parts of my nature.
