Keni Shares New Single ‘Bev Hillz’

Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter Keni has just shared her brand new single Bev Hillz, a super chill indie-pop cut out now via Tough Fruit Music. 
 
The lead single of her upcoming debut EP, Bev Hillz is a kooky homage to her heroes Weezer, beautifully showcasing her warm, breathy vocals that are incredibly hipnotising. This is a song about Beverly Hills and how much Keni wants to be a star, all this wrapped around a highly addictive indie-pop production. I am particularly fond of the groovy guitar riffs throughout the song and how they are seamlessly paired with steady drum pattenrs and cool rhythms, creating an overall warm, feel-good atmosphere. The chorus is absolutely addictive and got me singing along to it right after the very first listen. 
 
Accompanying the release, Keni has shared a tongue-in-cheek video, directed by Aerin Moreno, which finds the talented artist experience fame for a day. Check it out below!

 

 

Speaking about the song, Keni said,
I love Weezer. always have, always will. Beverly Hills is a staple of my childhood. i grew up in LA and hannah montana was my favorite show so what else would anyone expect. I live and have lived in the san fernando valley forever. i love it here. it’s my home but i want to move up. i don’t take myself too seriously, similar in that sense to this song. in my silliest, wildest dreams i do want a star on the boulevard. i know how that may sound but i WANT one. a big fat star with my name on it. and that’s okay, because you probably want one too. that’s what this song is about.
