Speaking about the song, Daniel Blume said,
‘On The Side’ was born at a time I’d been going through an experience where I was being played and strung along by somebody, and I wanted to try and channel that emotion into a really condensed and snappy vocal hook. It sat on my laptop for 2 years because I didn’t know what to do with it and then fast forward to now, it ended up being one of the key pillars that led me to discovering my sound as an artist, so it had to be the song that led this new era of my career!
