AJ Smith Shares New Single ‘Better’

Nashville-based singer and songwriter AJ Smith has just shared his brand new single Better, a powerful indie-pop cut about staying true to yourself and not taking yourself too seriously.

What I like the most about this song is how passionate AJ Smith's vocals are, oozing so much raw emotion and soul that is impossible not to feel each and every single word he is singing. Better is a song about not taking yourself too seriously and always remaining humble, especially toward people you love. This message is wrapped around cascading guitar strums that are seamlessly intertwined with punchy drums and bright synths that together create a high-energy atmosphere with an anthemic chorus to match.

Accompanying the release, AJ Smith has shared its official music video, directed by Evan Deng, which takes inspiration from the classic cult movie Fight Club as he explores two types of therapy: laying on a chair while the therapist listens and rounding up your buddies and fighting it out. AJ Smith lets his acting skills shine in this video by dodging, striking, and getting punched over and over again until he is a bloody mess revealing that anger only brings out the worst in people.
