Ferris & Sylvester Unveil New Single ‘Breadwinner’
Following last month's gorgeous single Golden, critically acclaimed British blues-rock duo Ferris & Sylvester share their brand new single Breadwinner, the latest single to be lifted from their forthcoming debut album Superhuman, which is set for release March 11th, 2022 via PIAS/Integral.
Written in the duo’s former South London flat about struggles with money, relationships and finding a place to call home, Breadwinner is a relatable song about feeling lost and having no clue what you want or where you're going. This message is beautifully conveyed through their characteristic fresh take on folk and blues packed with lush guitars, steady percussion and warm melodies that back their gorgeous, passionate vocals. I am particularly fond of Issy Ferris's gritty, raspy tone which enhances the blues and soul in the production, making the song stand out even more. Check it out below!

This song is a celebration of feeling lost. Of not knowing where you’re going or how to get what you want. Of working hard in your work life and your love life, and getting little reward. You imagined your life would be like an indie film, where boy meets girl and everyone lives in cool loft apartments. Instead, life is more like an unseen episode of Peep Show. The truth is, everyone is in it together. There is an odd human comfort in that, and it deserves to be celebrated. That is what Breadwinner is for.
