Sarpa Salpa Share New Single ‘Somebody’

Northampton-based 4-piece indie pop band Sarpa Salpa start 2022 with the release of their brand new single Somebody, an upbeat piece of indie-pop music.

Somebody follows October release Your House which saw plays from Jack Saunders on BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing, huge support from Amazing Radio and the Student Radio Association Network, plus acoveted spot on the Radio X X-Posure Playlist. I am loving the energetic and soaring guitar riffs that are nicely paired with punchy drums, creating an upbeat, feel-good atmosphere for Marcus Marooth's passionate vocals to soar.

I am a big fan of Marcus's vocals which are quite commanding and packed with so much confidence and emotion, instantly making us feel each and every single word he is singing about. Somebody is a song about the end of a relationship and realising that they just weren't meant to be and are better off following their own, separate paths. This message is wrapped around a feel-good and energetic indie-pop/rock production that will give you an extra dose of energy in no time. Check it out below!

Of the single Vocalist Marcus Marooth says,
Somebody is a final goodbye to an old friend after 7 years together, it’s the summary of realisation that we weren’t meant to be and that we are both happier and better off where we are today. It’s a token of thanks and respect to what was as we both head down new paths and better lives. It’s also self reflective in my flaws in my past relationship and what I could’ve done better, what they deserved and simply weren’t getting. It’s my way of pushing her to find someone better than me and not lose confidence or faith in the world!
