Wild Rivers Share New Single ‘Weatherman’

Canadian indie-folk band Wild Rivers have just unveiled their brand new single Weatherman, an upbeat indie-pop song out now via Nettwerk Records.

Co-produced by Peter Katis (The National, Interpol, Sharon van Etten) and Wild Rivers, Weatherman is an upbeat song about the desire for control and planning ahead which make us not appreciate the now. The song shares a positive message to live in the moment and appreciate what we have right now, and not take things for granted. This message is wrapped around a warm indie-pop production with intricate guitar-based melodies nicely paired with smooth percussion and bright atmospherics that reate an overall warm, sun-soaked atmosphere perfect for a relaxing summer's weekend.

Accompanying the release, Wild Rivers have just shared its captivating official music video, directed by What I Like Studio, which perfectly enhances the song's atmosphere and message. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Wild Rivers said,

This song came out of a conversation we had about how you can never trust the weather forecast. It was this funny idea that led to a conversation about things in life that we see as a certainty, and how rarely true that is. We talk a lot about making plans and a deep desire for control. Not only is this futile, but it also completely takes you out of the present. ‘Weatherman’ is a reminder to us to appreciate the moment…that we’re just right.
