School of X Shares New Single ‘New Friend’

School of X, the moniker of Danish singer and songwriter Rasmus Littauer, has just shared his brand new single New Friend, the latest single to be taken from his upcoming sophomore album, Dancing Through The Void, set to arrive on September 24th via Tambourhinoceros.

I am a fan of School of X's vocals and how his delivery is quite effortless, soaring beautifully over the warm indie-pop production. New Friend is a song about treating others with respect and is wrapped around a memorable blend of indie, pop and rock elements packed with steady percussion, cool guitar plucks and cinematic strings that create an overall warm, laid-back atmosphere. I am also very fond of the backing vocals/choir that enhance the warmth and emotion of the production. This is a great song to listen to on a relaxing day at home. New Friend comes with a music video, directed by Copenhagen/London based Stella Malfilatre, that is an emotive portrait of Littauer’s confident and artistic indie-pop persona. With a sombre, yet hopeful demeanor, we watch him slowly picking the petals of a flower as he reflects on the song’s message. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, School of X said,
It’s about that you should always treat people with respect. Even if the romance is over and you’re leaving someone, then you should pay your respects.
