BAYLI Shares New Single ‘16’
New York-based singer and songwriter BAYLI has just shared her brand new single 16, taken from her forthcoming debut EP, stories from new york, due out September 10 via Snafu Records.
16 is a captivating r&b-infused electro-pop song that tells the story of her mom whom she recently lost. This song shows her mom's journey through the hardships of life, sharing how strong she was and how she made BAYLI a strong woman as well. This message is wrapped around an infectious production with groovy bass and guitar riffs, steady percussion, cool electronic elements and warm rhythms that combined create a warm atmosphere perfect for an introspective day at home. Speaking about the song, BAYLI said,
'16' tells the story of my mom, whom my family and I recently lost unexpectedly. Born an orphan in the UK, my mom immigrated to NYC from London at age 16. This song is a fast-forward through the hardships she faced in the years of her travels and the things she taught us from her experiences. It’s my first ever attempt at some type of memoir-esque writing. '16' is about how strong, epic and beautiful my mother is; she is the reason I know how to be a strong woman today.
