London-based singer and songwriter Sofia Biancardi has just shared her brand new single Need You Now, a powerful pop ballad about not wanting to let go of someone. 

I am loving Sofia Biancardi's powerful, emotive vocal delivery which soars effortlessly over the warm pop production. I am particularly fond of the emotive piano chords and how they instantly create somewhat of a dramatic touch in the song that matches her bold lyricism. Those lush piano chords are nicely intertwined with catchy percussion and guitars that back Sofia's powerhouse vocals. Need You Now is a song about being in a toxic relationship and struggling to let go of your partner, but you end up realising that you're selfishly hurting them because of your needs. Most of us have experienced a toxic relationship on some level, whether that be in a friendship or romantically. The song was created when I was faced with the reality that by not letting the other person move on, you’re selfishly hurting them because of your own needs. Letting go can be painful but holding on when you can’t or won’t give them what they deserve is cruel.
