Dan Croll Shares New Single ‘Why Are You Hiding Away’
British singer and songwriter Dan Croll has just shared his brand new single Why Are You Hiding Away, the latest single to be taken from his eagerly awaited new EP, On Top, out now via Communion Records.
I am really enjoying his smooth vocals and how they beautifully capture our attention to his storytelling. Why Are You Hiding Away is a song inspired by former US President Donald Trump's hiding away from protestors in the White House bunker. It also celebrates one good thing that came during the pandemic which was the end of his presidency. This message is wrapped around an upbeat, sun-soaked indie-pop production packed with cool guitar riffs nicely intertwined with steady percussion. I am also very fond of the song's warm, laid-back atmosphere perfect for a relaxing weekend at home. Check it out below!
Adding about the new song, he said,
This song is about the only good thing to happen during the pandemic, the end of Trump's presidency. Living in America the past three years has felt like a front row seat to it all, especially after the murder of George Floyd and the public outcry nationwide that followed. One of the defining moments of his presidency for me was following these protests where he hid from protestors in the White House bunker, and how it showed him for all that he is, a coward."
