Robert Corbett Shares New Single ‘Spring Of 86’
Canadian singer and songwriter Robert Corbett is taking us back to the 80s with his gorgeous new single Spring Of 86. Musically, growing up, the 80’s and 90’s had a significant influence on him as an artist today. Such influences include: U2, Tears for Fears, David Bowie, Depeche Mode and INXS. The song oozes 80s vibes mostly thanks to its driving synth beat and percussion yet with a modern touch.
I am very fond of his smooth vocals and how they flow effortlessly over the infectious melodies, instantly connecting the listener to his relatable storytelling. Spring Of 86 is an introspective piece of music about facing inner challenger and misguided passion. This message is wrapped around a highly infectious production packed with a memorable driving beat, lush synths and beautiful harmonies.
Accompanying the release, Robert Corbett shared a captivating music video that features footage of the famous TV Series Miami Vice. A perfect video to really get us in the 80s mood. Check it out below!
Speaking about the song, Robert said,
This song was written in late 2020, but the words have always resonated with me. It’s about misguided passion and having to face inner challenges at the most inopportune time in my life. But most of all it’s about not knowing if the person you’re with shares that deep passion.
