Apricus Shares Debut Single ‘You Don’t Know’

Apricus, the moniker of Nashville-based Indie Rock songwriter, singer, producer, mixing engineer, and mastering engineer Will Mikkelson, makes his official music debut with the release of his first single You Don't Know.

Written, recorded, mixed and mastered by Apricus himself, You Don't Know is a heartfelt song about dealing with the loss of a loved one and the paradoxical feeling of it being all you want to talk about but also the last thing you want to talk about. This trauma and grieving process is quite relatable and Apricus wraps it around a captivating indie-rock production packed with gorgeous guitars, punchy percussion and somewhat of an atmospheric touch that really makes it stand out even more. I am also very fond of the contrast betweet the sombre lyrics with the upbeat production and how it sounds perfect for a long drive at night. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Apricus said,

This is a song about the morning I found out my best friend had died in a tragic hiking accident. It is about the isolation that grief can often bring about and the paradoxical feeling that it is all you want to talk about and it is the absolute last thing that you want to talk about, all at the same time. The song reflects this paradox with somber lyrics that are carried by an energetic and upbeat production. I wrote, recorded, mixed, and mastered this song completely by myself in isolation without showing it to any friends or family for opinions except for my wife. This was the realization of a dream I've had since High School (2008) to be able to take a song from an idea all the way to a completed master recording all by myself.
