Etaoin Shares Debut Single ‘Bedroom Walls’

London-based singer and songwriter Etaoin makes her musical introduction with the release of her lovely debut single Bedroom Walls, out now via Made Records.

I am loving the fact that this is an acoustic guitar-driven song on which we can truly focus on Etaoin's gorgeous vocals and storytelling skills. I am also enjoying the touches of piano that enhance the emotion of the song. On Bedroom Walls, Etaoin showcases a finger picking style that has a traditional songwriter air to it, contrasting with her unflinching lyrics and pop melodies. I am particularly fond of her smooth vocal delivery which is packed with so much raw emotion, instantly connecting the listener to her storytelling. Bedroom Walls is a song born out of heartbreak with relatable lyrics, gorgeous vocals and an overall warm and intimate atmosphere perfect for these cold winter days. Speaking about the song, Etaoin said,

When I listen to 'Bedroom Walls' now there’s a sense of waiting for my old self to come back. Not only waiting for someone else, but for yourself at the same time; wanting to be in contact with someone through lyrics, but not actually facing it. Pride can get in the way sometimes, people don‘t wanna look like they care. I‘m so guilty of that, I‘m scared of looking like I care too much. Especially with boys. So I just think of a million speeches, write texts, delete them and ask friends the same question over and over as if they know the answer.
