Laurel Smith Shares New Single ‘Game Over’

North London-based singer and songwriter Laurel Smith has just shared her brand new single Game Over, an edgy piece of Dark-tinged electro-pop music.

I am loving her smooth, sultry vocals which instantly drew my attention to the track. I am also enjoying the slight distortion around her vocals that make it stand out even more and give it a cool hypnotic touch. Game Over is a relatable song about being in a vicious cycle and not being able to get out of it and is wrapped around a captivating blend of elements of moody pop, hip-hop and electronic synths.

Accompanying the release is an equally edgy visual directed by Jeremie Brivet which you can check out below!

Speaking about the song, Laurel Smith said,

’Game Over’ is a dark, atmospheric track with a driving chorus. It’s about a vicious cycle: being in a situation which you try everything to get out of, but always finding yourself back in the same place you began. Like a character in a video game, every time you die you are regenerated at the start. I wrote the track during a low point in my life where I felt I had no control over anything anymore. I hope others can hear the song and identify with the same feelings I was experiencing.
