YXL Ayo Shares New Single ‘Bad Guy’

British singer, rapper and producer YXL Ayo has just shared his brand new single Bad Guy, a captivating piece of afroswing music produced by Super Beats.

I am really enjoying YXL Ayo's effortless rhymes and how they are backed by a chill, laid-back production with intricate guitar melodies, delicate piano keys and an infectious beat. Bad Guy is a melodious piece of music that instantly got stuck to my head and feels perfect for a relaxing weekend at home.

Accompanying the release is a cinematic music video directed by Will Ainsworth which follows the plot of a love-crazed man spurred on to commit crimes to maintain a bad boy persona for his spouse. Playing out in reverse, starting with the story’s grisly conclusion, the bite-sized drama is enthralling from the jump.

Taking inspiration from Bonnie and Clyde, Ayo explains that the visuals serve as a cautionary tale of “how one's need for love can cause them to change how they are, which inevitably leads to them doing things which are out of character to impress their lover.” Check it out below!
