Hauskey Shares New Single ‘Somewhere’
Following the success of his debut single Slow, Hauskey, the moniker of Australian singer, songwriter and producer Andy Hopkins, returns with his sophomore release Somewhere, out now via slowplay/Republic Records.
Much like its predecessor, Somewhere is a captivating piece of smooth, sun-soaked pop music with an overall feel-good atmosphere that got me hooked to it right after the very first listen. I am really enjoying Hauskey's distinctive vocals which soar effortlessly over the groove-laden pop production. I am particularly fond of the raspy in his vocal delivery and how the song is so smooth and perfect to unwind after a stressful day. Listening to this song all I want to do is go outside and enjoy a beautiful sunny day with phone off and just enjoy a relaxing day. Check it out below!
Speaking about the song, Hauskey said,
I wrote ‘Somewhere’ during week three of lockdown in Sydney. It was such an escape for me, that once I finished the first demo, I sat there for hours and just looped it over and over. It’s as much about physically wanting to get away, as needing to get out of my own head and stop thinking about every single negative thing that 2020 has thrown at us. It’s a short retreat, in a long year.
