Swedish indie-pop band A Choir of Ghosts have just unveiled their brand new single An Ounce of Gold, a song that reflects about break-ups and that sometimes it's good to be alone.
I am really enjoying the distinctive vocals of frontman James and how it is beautifully backed by an Americana/Folk-infused production packed with lush guitars and strings that create an intimate and "earthy" atmosphere. The strings are my favourite element in this song as I like how they give the song a magical touch and beautifully enhance the emotion of the lyrics. An Ounce of Gold has also an infectious pop hook that is perfect to sing along to. To accompany the release the guys have shared its official music video which you can check out below!
Frontman James wrote the single over 10 years ago, reflecting upon the break-up of his first love. It resembles when your current picture of reality shatters to pieces and the craving of finding home, may it be in people or in a physical space. The single An Ounce Of Gold is an ode to past relationships and to go solo, spoken through elements of nature we’re all rooting back from.
