Today several websites like Wikipedia, Google, Facebook, etc, are protesting against SOPA and PIPA bills in the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate respectively. SOPA is short for the "Stop Online Piracy Act," and PIPA is an acronym for the "Protect IP Act." These bills intend to protect copyrights infringements and trademark property. This idea is positive however the language of these bills is so vague that can make any intellectual property owner that feels his copyrights have been violated can take down a website on its entirely without the normal process of the law. So in defense of freedom of expression we must sign a petition against these bills. To find out more information about these bills click here! We are all affected by these bills if they are approved the internet times as we know them are over.
