Echo the Screen Shares New Single ‘Mr. Right’

Toronto-based indie pop artist Echo the Screen has just shared his brand new single Mr. Right, a bittersweet soft-pop anthem capturing the ache of unrequited love.

The follow up to his shimmering indie-pop gem Time, Mr. Right explores the bittersweet space where a relationship begins to slip away, capturing the exact moment "yes" turns into "maybe." It's a tender and relatable track about recognising when someone isn't your person, even when everything almost felt like they were. A song that is beautifully conveyed through Ethan Conway's magnetic, expressive vocals which glide effortlessly over the upbeat production. I am also very fond of the guitar lines which are nicely intertwined with rich electronic textures and upbeat drum patterns that come together to create an overall upbeat atmosphere that balances lingering melancholy with a fierce, undeniable hope for the future.

Speaking about the song, Echo the Screen said,
I wanted to write a song about the kind of situation so many people find themselves in when it comes to unrequited love. The lyric ‘Maybe the rhythm of your heart was never meant for mine’ is about that heavy realization, but it is also about building your self-esteem back up. It is a reminder that you can still be the Mr. Right for someone else!
