E ontem um dos singles mais antecipados do ano estreou: Born This Way de Lady GaGa. A letra já a conhecíamos e agora temos tudo para avaliar o tema que continua a bater recordes :) Eu acho a letra a melhor parte da música, sem dúvida um "hino" para aqueles que a queiram aceitar como tal. A parte da melodia em si... foi o que me desiludiu... GaGa conseguia ter arranjado melhor para acompanhar uma letra tão forte. Aposto que as suas actuações do tema vão ser mais em acústico. No entanto é um bom tema, leva uma boa mensagem. Mas imensa gente já viu a inspiração de Lady GaGa no Express Yourself de Madonna (coisa que a própria GaGa já tinha referido anteriormente) e acusa a cantora de não ser original. A minha opinião é que temas inspiracionais estão na moda novamente (Firework de Perry, We R Who We R de Ke$ha, etc) e este tema não escapa! É um bom tema, gostei. Mas sinceramente não é um tema que vou ouvir sempre nas rádios ou no iPod. Temas "inspiracionais" prefiro Express Yourself, Beautiful e Firework. Dou uma sólida avaliação de 4 estrelas a este tema que poderia ter sido melhor com outra sonoridade!

And yesterday one of the highly anticipated singles of the year came out: Lady GaGa's Born This Way. We knew the lyrics and now we have all to evaluate this song that keeps breaking records :) The strong part of this song is the lyrics! Strong message throughout the entire song. What don't I like in this song? It's trying too hard to be an anthem and the melody could have been better, maybe with a different beat, I don't know... I just don't like it, it sounds unfinished. I bet she'll perform this song many times as an acoustic version. Many of you noticed the clear inspiration on Madonna's Express Yourself but don't hold it against GaGa, since she also stated it had some inspiration from that song. Inspirational songs are in at the moment (Perry's Firework, Ke$ha's We R Who We R, etc) and BTW is right in that category. That takes the novelty/vanguard out of the song that many people expected. I like the song but won't be hearing it nonstop, there are better "anthems" out there like the classics Express Yourself and Beautiful. I'm sure it will be another massive hit for GaGa and I rate it with 4 solid stars.
