Tarantina
Self-taught singer, multi-instrumentalist, producer and videographer Tarantina has unveiled her brand new single 1/9, and electronic pop-noir track with an eery cinematic atmosphere. Her vocals are so soulful and powerful, and the song has quite a punch! 1/9 is taken from her forthcoming self-produced debut EP ‘Teething’, which will be released later in 2017.

Speaking about 1/9, Tarantina explains,
The breakdown of a turbulent relationship can feel like a death, but 1/9 plays with the idea that this is just the death of one possible route through life. One down, nine to go.”

Tarantina blends fine art processes and pop culture with a DIY aesthetic to make accompanying videos akin to moving pieces of audiovisual art. Raised between two juxtaposing worlds, her mother’'s house filled with Portishead and Leftfield (who she'’s been touring the world with this year as their lead vocalist), and the home of her father with Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett, Tarantina is a product of these opposing influences with a staunchly avant-garde twist.
