Kara Connolly Shares New Single ‘running with the wolves’

American singer and songwriter Kara Connolly has just shared her brand new single running with the wolves, a dark, cinematic alt-pop anthem about shedding the conventions that tame us and returning to instinct, nature and wildness.

Out now via Karat Cake Music, running with the wolves finds the talented artist sharing a wild, liberating story about being cast out and coming back stronger. A fierce, empowering anthem about turning rejection into freedom and finding your pack in the wild. I am loving the epic, cinematic vibes of the song and how rich and commanding Connolly's vocal delivery is, soaring beautifully over the infectious Dark-Pop/Chamber-Pop production. Accompanying her gorgeous vocals we have lush strings nicely intertwined with memorable percussive elements, dramatic piano keys and orchestral textures that come together to create an enthralling and powerful listening experience.

Speaking about the song, Kara Connolly said,
This song is really special to me. As an adult, I’m finally reclaiming the parts of myself that I was taught as a young girl to tame; my anger, my intuition, my opinion, my freedom, my wildness. As a little girl, I knew what I felt; I knew what I wanted, and I unapologetically spoke it. I always had a deep, innate sense of right vs. wrong and I shared those opinions without self-doubt or question. I loved little creatures like snails and goldfish because many treated them like they didn’t matter and I innately knew that everything in nature plays a significant role. At times, that little girl was labeled “difficult” and so somewhere along the way I pushed parts of her down in favor of playing the roles of mediator and peacekeeper, which I got really good at. But, that little self—the advocate, the warrior, the wild woman—returns to me in waves and I’m determined to welcome her into my life and give her the space to speak and the power to move. This song is a call for all of us to remember and embody the parts of ourselves that perhaps we’ve diluted along the way. We need them now more than ever.
