Svaerd Shares Enchanting Single ‘Blue’

Svaerd, the moniker of Swedish pianist, singer, and songwriter Julia Nilsson, shares her brand new single Blue, an enchanting acoustic-folk gem with orchestral touches.

The second single to be lifted from Svaerd's upcoming album This Heavy Load, Blue explores the desire to love someone who does not allow themselves to be loved, someone who hides and withdraws, or turns their defenses outward whenever you try to get close. Someone who wants to connect, but is afraid to truly meet you.

A relatable story that is effortlessly conveyed through Svaerd's enchanting, dreamlike vocals which radiate so much emotion and soul that is impossible not to feel each and every single word she sings. Accompanying her gorgeous vocals we have emotive piano keys nicely intertwined with orchestral touches and stellar string arrangements that enhance the raw emotion and vulnerability of her storytelling while adding an epic and cinematic touch to it. Have a listen to this gem below!

Svaerd recalls the recording:
The strings play a major role in the song. I wrote the arrangement, and the Stockholm Studio Orchestra plays it so beautifully under the direction of Erik Arvinder. In the second chorus, you can hear the strings playing fast scales up and down, where I’m trying to evoke the movement of waves on the ocean. In the outro, the storm starts to build, and the strings are given room to take over and expand. It was really fun to write.
