Bella Shields Drops New Single ‘One Wish’

Dublin-based singer-songwriter Bella Shields has just dropped her brand new single One Wish, a deeply personal track exploring the ache of unrequited love, rejection and the longing to be seen by someone who doesn’t feel the same way. 

 

The follow up to her reflective gem The Art of Letting Go, One Wish finds the talented artist imagining an alternate reality in which she is finally with the person she wants, only to find that even then their attention remains elsewhere. A deeply relatable and emotionally-honest song about the particular pain of unrequited love when the person you want only ever sees someone else. 

 

This message is beautifully conveyed through Bella Shields's enchanting, emotionally-charted vocal delivery which is accompanied by lush electric guitar strums, steady drum patterns, gentle piano keys and captivating rhythms that build up in pace and burst with energy into an infectious chorus packed with raw passion and emotion.

The inspiration behind ‘One Wish’ came from the feeling of having someone who means so much to you, while knowing that the love you feel isn’t reciprocated. I wanted to explore the rejection and heartbreak that can come from that, even when nothing tangible has actually happened between you.
