Avery Cochrane Unveils New Single ‘Toy Gun’

Seattle-based alt pop / indie pop singer and songwriter Avery Cochrane shares her brand new single Toy Gun, a bright and upbeat indie-pop gem out now via S-Curve Records. 

 

The lead single off of her highly anticipated upcoming debut album, Toy Gun is an upbeat and high energy reflection on feigning bravery and putting on a strong face for a less-than-secure romantic partner. It's a bold and empowering song about keeping your peace, watching someone unravel without you, and knowing you already won. A relatable story that is beautifully conveyed through Cochrane's rich, expressive vocals which glide passionately over the bright synth-pop production. Apart from those vocals and bright synths, I am very fond of the punchy beats, killer guitars and captivating rhythms that come together to create an upbeat, feel-good listening experience.

Speaking of the new single, Avery says,

I wrote this song about the freedom of leaving a relationship that was emotionally draining. To me, acting “toughened with a toy gun” means assuming the role of the brave and secure partner, despite being unsure of the relationship yourself.
