Modey Releases Debut Single ‘Cherry Tea & Lime’

Canadian singer and songwriter Modey has just unveiled his official debut single Cherry Tea & Lime, a smooth and upbeat pop gem with afrobeat touches. 

 

Cherry Tea & Lime is a song about letting go completely and surrendering to the euphoric experience of a night where everything feels surreal and heightened. A playful song about enjoying the moment, trusting your mind and simply experiencing the freedom with no cares in the world. This relatable message is beautifully conveyed through Modey's smooth, expressive vocals which glide effortlessly over the infectious production that features bright electronic textures, lush synths, groovy rhythms and beats that come together to create an overall liberating, feel-good listening experience.

Speaking about the song, Modey said,

I wrote "Cherry Tea & Lime" about the split second where losing control stops being scary and starts being freedom, and how thin that line actually is. The song opens in a kind of panic, tight chest, thoughts slipping, that feeling of not trusting your own mind. Then something shifts and the same sensations that felt threatening a minute ago start to feel like release. Nothing about the experience changes, just how I'm relating to it. That's the whole idea I was chasing.
