Thomas Cole's "Stubble" turns five o'clock shadow into a manifesto, and somehow it works. The hook lands fast, the kind of chorus that colonizes your shower routine before you've clocked a single lyric, but what keeps it from being disposable pop fluff is the sleight of hand underneath: a song ostensibly about bar-scene flirting that's actually arguing for authenticity over polish. 

Electropoint's production gives it that glossy electro-pop bounce Cole's known for, though the country twang threaded through the bassline keeps things grounded rather than glossy. It's a small, clever inversion, taking something most guys shave off and making it the whole point.
