Cloud has returned with a new song "Nobody's Dreaming". Four minutes in, I realized I had not moved. That is the trick with "Nobody's Dreaming," it starts so quiet you barely notice it working on you, then suddenly the room feels different. Cloud does not rush toward the big moment the way most songs like this do, he lets it creep up through layers of sound until you are already caught before you knew anything was happening.

The restraint is what I enjoy most, nothing here is trying too hard, yet somehow it lands harder than tracks twice as loud. Coming from an independent artist based in Japan who has still managed to pull in the majority of his 160,000 plus Spotify plays from American listeners, that kind of pull says something.
