TEHYA Unveils New Single ‘Love Overdose’

Canadian singer, songwriter and martial artist TEHYA shares her brand new single Love Overdose, an infectious indie-pop cut.
The follow up to last month's upbeat indie-pop Burn for Me, Love Overdose is a song about the fear of ruining a cherished friendship by allowing it to become something more. It's an honest portrayal of falling for your best friend and being completely powerless to stop it, knowing that if you cross the line everything will change. It's a deeply relatable, emotionally-charged song about the agonising space between friendship and something much harder to name.
This gem beautifully showcases TEHYA's beatiful vocals which soar passionately over the captivating production, effortlessly enhancing the raw emotion of her songwriting. This gem features a string quartet reminiscent of a Bridgerton ballroom, steady beats, catchy synths and rhythms that encapsulate the push-and-pull at the centre of her storytelling.
Speaking about the song, TEHYA said,
"Love Overdose" was created after a close friend of mine had developed feelings for me, unfortunately leading to the end of our friendship. After we stopped talking, I found myself writing this song from their perspective. However, this is a feeling I've felt for other friends as well. To me, this song is about the overwhelming love I feel for my friends, and how easily that line between friendship and something more can become blurred.
