Deco Reveal New Single ‘Weekend’

British indie-synth pop band Deco have just released their brand new single Weekend, a euphoric indie-pop anthem that captures the universal pull of escape, anticipation and release.
The second single from their forthcoming album Dreamhouse, due for release on 23 October, Weekend is a high-energy, feel-good anthem driven by anticipation and the promise of freedom, sharing a subtle rebellion against routine, repetition and the feeling of wishing life away. I am loving the passionate vocal delivery and how infectious and anthemic the chorus is, beautifully getting me in a good mood to celebrate finally being the weekend. This guitar-leaning indie-pop gem is also nicely paired with lush synths, catchy rhythms and a memorable sax solo that together create a blissful, feel-good atmosphere perfect to get you in a party mood in no time. Speaking about the song, frontman Max Kendall said,
On face value, it lives for its title - it’s a feel-good weekend anthem. It’s a record that made us feel good when we made it, and even more so now we’re playing it live. It’s just got that energy, it’s a mood changer. That excitement for the weekend is something you have from a young age, and it never really goes away. We’d just had one of the most exciting years of our lives, and then suddenly we were back in the routine of everything else. I think our sense of living for the weekend was particularly heightened at that time. The song is about chasing that feeling again - something that’s been etched into us since childhood.
