Australian singer-songwriter Angus Legg has just released his brand new single Like I Never Left, a heartfelt Folk-Pop gem about coming back home to someone you love.
The final single to be lifted from his upcoming debut EP, Like I Never Left is about coming home and questioning whether "home" is still waiting on the other side. A bittersweet song about the one that got away and the devastating tenderness of a reunion that feels like coming home, Like I Never Left pairs Angus Legg's emotionally-charged, heartfelt vocals with a memorable Folk-Pop production. You can clearly feel the raw emotion pouring from his passionate vocal delivery which is accompanied by gentle acoustic guitar and mandolin plucks seamlessly intertwined with lush strings, delicate rhythms and beats that ebb and flow in energy to match the raw emotion of his storytelling.
Speaking about the song, Angus Legg said,
The song follows the final hours of a journey, the plane ride, the taxi from the airport, and the moment I arrive at the doorstep I once knew, wondering if it still knows me. The chorus flashes back to the day I left, questioning whether I made the right choice, reliving the weight of saying goodbye to someone who meant everything, and sitting with the loud hint of regret. "Like I Never Left" is a companion piece to my previous release, "12th of May." Where "12th of May" captures the day I left, full of grief and uncertainty, "Like I Never Left" lives in the return, holding onto the blind hope that what you had might still be there. The song is layered with references to "12th of May," with small details and easter eggs woven throughout. The final four lines still make me cry.
