Adriana Lucia Releases New Single ‘Pueblerina’

One of Colombia's most prominent singer-songwriters and a two-time Latin Grammy nominee, Adriana Lucía releases her bew single Pueblerina, a memorable Latin-Pop/World Music cut.

Out now via Sony Music Entertainment, Pueblerina finds Adriana Lucía embracing traditional cumbia led by the flauta de millo, supported by the tambora and tambor alegre, and fused with afrobeats to create a contemporary, global sound. A celebration of Latin American cultural pride, highlighting that the countryside is not only the source of the food on our tables, but also of music, poetry, and a way of life rooted in simplicity. It also shows the deep bonds shared by those born in small towns, an identity that transcends borders and connects pueblerinos around the world through love for the land, community, and the essence of everyday life.

I am loving the tone of her voice and how it glides passionately over the polished production that blends traditional cumbia elements—such as Afro-Caribbean percussion patterns and call-and-response choruses—with contemporary rhythmic and production influences drawn from afrobeats.

Speaking about the song, Adriana Lucía said,
Those of us born in small towns are connected by our love for the land, by the power of words, and by a deep sense of trust. No matter where we come from—mountains, rivers, or the sea—we share a common thread: the understanding that the world feels smaller when seen from our place of origin, from the countryside.

The music video for Pueblerina, directed by Andrés Pájaro, was filmed in several towns in Córdoba—including Lorica, Nariño, and Mata de Caña—and portrays Adriana Lucía immersed in the everyday life of her hometown alongside her neighbours, in a simple and authentic setting.
