Jacana People x Vraell Share New Single ‘Paper Thin’

UK electronic producer duo Jacana People share their new single Paper Thin, a sublime collaboration with London’s virtuoso guitarist and composer Vraell (Alessio Scozzaro).

Taken from their upcoming Breaker EP, set to arrive on June 26th on Nettwerk, Paper Thin is a stunning blend of club-oriented beats with luscious synths, deft plucked strings, and breathy falsetto vocals. I am a fan of Vraell's gorgeous, dreamy vocals and how they effortlessly infuse the song with a memorable depth of soul and emotion.

Paper Thin is a song about struggling with one's inner thoughts and self-sabotage, never thinking we're enough for ourselves. Apart from Vraell's haunting vocal delivery, I am loving how warm and enchanting the synths and rhythms make the song sound, together with the intricate guitars and rhythms make this quite a memorable downtempo/electronica cut perfect for late-night drives and introspective moments.

Speaking about the song, Jacana People said,
Working with Alessio felt like a turning point for the record. From our first studio session, there was an immediate connection. His haunting vocals and beautiful guitar playing locked in perfectly with some of the more club-driven drum energy we’d been experimenting with on Nudge and Orbit. Paper Thin emerged so naturally from our first session that the song was essentially finished in a few hours. It captures a softer edge of the record, but still holds that late-night pulse. ‘Paper Thin’ is a soft mantra about never being enough for yourself. Hailstorm in your lungs. A constant battle with everything racing around your head.

Vraell added,
Jacana People and I wrote this song in a very short amount of time. Kind of just fell into place when I was humming all these one take vocals over the guitar loops and beats until words gradually formed. It was a pretty effortless creation.
