Obed Padilla Shares New Single ‘Rainforest’

Chicano singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Obed Padilla has just shared his brand new single Rainforest, an upbeat and warm indie-pop gem.
Out now via Bigg Family Music, Rainforest is the first glimpse into his upcoming Rodeo Clown EP, due early this summer. Rainforest finds the talented artist singing about reaching the stage of acceptance while grieving, trying to move on and learning to be ok with it. A relatable storytelling about healing and the openness it takes to move forward and imagine love again, Rainforest pairs Padilla's smooth, soothing vocals with a stripped-back rhythmic foundation before unfolding into a percussion-led arrangement that together create a relaxed, atmospheric backdrop perfect for a laid-back weekend.
Speaking on the story behind Rainforest, Obed shares;
They say there are 5 stages of grief and ‘Rainforest’ represents acceptance. ‘Rodeo clown’ as a whole is the 6th stage of grief- being late to the funeral and feeling like the clown because everyone else has already moved on from things I never dealt with. ‘Rainforest’ is a song about trying to move on, not being able to, and sitting in the present and learning to be ok with that.
