AMBER Unveils Debut Single ‘St Tropez’

London-based singer and songwriter AMBER has unveiled her debut single, St Tropez, a cinematic and nostalgic track that explores longing, escape and emotional freedom. 
 
Released via Now Listen, St Tropez captures a first encounter in St. Tropez where two strangers lock eyes and instantly feel a magnetic pull. A song about the moment before desire becomes real, when imagination runs ahead and freedom feels just within reach, St Tropez finds the talented artist beautifully showcasing her smooth, expressive vocals and storytelling abilities over a warm production with gentle guitar strums nicely intertwined with steady drum beats and textures that come together to create an overall sun-soaked, laid-back atmosphere!

 

 

Speaking about the song, AMBER said, 
When ‘St Tropez’ was just beginning, it was built around this gorgeous guitar melody that instantly made me think of waves and sunshine. The melody felt timeless, like guitars have been strummed that way to tell stories forever. It helped that I was in Bali while recording it, because the feeling of summer romance came naturally, not the romance itself, but the possibility of it. That sense of not knowing what’s around the corner when you travel, or when you lock eyes with someone, whether that’s in St Tropez or on the tube in London. I wanted to capture that moment of longing, where your mind runs ahead and imagines the entire story before it’s even happened, and how the only thing separating dream from reality is the courage to ask for someone’s name.
