Zahra Deljoui & Jonatan Bäckelie Share New Single ‘Uninvited’

British-Iranian queer artist Zahra Deljoui teams up with Swedish artist Jonatan Bäckelie to deliver her brand new single Uninvited, a dark, cinematic alt-pop duet. 

 

Out now on Rakkaus Records, Uninvited is a song about religious judgement and moral control, drawing directly from Zahra's lived experience, pushing back against shame and exclusion. This defiant and emotionally-charged gem is beautifully conveyed through Zahra and Jonatan's rich, soulful vocals which soar effortlessly over the captivating production. A standout of the song is its intro, opening with a start Gregorian choir that slowly evolves into an alt-pop with Middle Easter-inspired strings, together creating the perfect background for their vocals and storytelling to soar.
