Heartbreak, Healing, and Honesty — Estella Dawn’s ‘Conversations’
San Diego-based singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Estella Dawn shares yet another heartfelt gem called Conversations, a raw, poetic exploration of uneven love, self-worth, and the breaking point where vulnerability transforms into clarity.
The follow up to her confessional alt-pop ballad Drunk & Messy, Conversations finds the talented artist singing about that moment when you feel you've given everything to someone but they don't reciprocate, making you feel frustrated for having to ask to be loved and respected in return. It wrestles with the tension between believing in promises and acknowledging the truth of actions. In the end is a song about self-worth, beautifully capturing the realisation that love isn't meant to be begged for.
A message that is flawlessly conveyed through Estella Dawn's rich, powerful vocals that radiate so much soul and emotion that is impossible not to feel each and every single word she is singing about. Accompanying her vocals we have a gentle piano-based melody that slowly progresses with layered harmonies, lush instrumentation, and a textures soundscape weaving between strings, synths, vocoders, and subtle electronic elements, together creating an overall warm, heartfelt listening experience!
Speaking about the song, Estella Dawn said,
Conversations" came from that space where love feels uneven — where you’re giving everything but the other person isn’t. It’s about the frustration of having to ask for respect, affection, and commitment. They give you just enough to feel like they might be capable of more, but their actions don’t line up. Writing it was my way of holding a mirror up to that dynamic and admitting I couldn’t keep settling for half-measures.
