PEPTALK x LUATÈ. Share New Single ‘Rancid’
CaesarLiveNLoud
Australian band PEPTALK, consisting of Jay-Lee Kwan (keys), Lara Frew (bass), and Phoebe Sinclair (lead vocals), team up with fellow Australian singer-songwriter LUATÈ. to deliver their brand new single Rancid, an infectious alt-pop letter to the music industry.
The follow up to their dreamy single Pretty Colours (with Huck Hastings), Rancid finds the artists sharing their experience with the music industry, addressing the intoxicating nature of hope, to the revelation there are no guarantees, to the self-awareness of staying in harm’s way. A song about a toxic, addictive love where the pull of temptation and habit keeps dragging you back even though you know that relationship is harmful, reminding listeners that walking away is easier said than done.
Rancid pairs Phoebe's dulcet tone with LUATÈ.'s rich, soulful vocals, both packed with raw emotion and soaring effortlessly over the captivating production. I am very fond of the guitar plucks nicely intertwined with bright electronics, steady drum patterns and bass that come together to create an overall warm, somewhat nostalgic atmosphere.
Both Rancid and Pretty Colours can be found on their latest project, Better With Friends - Vol. 1, out now!
