Alexandra John Release New Single ‘FANCY’

American Pop duo Alexandra John, comprised of twins Liza and Weston Cain, have just shared their brand new single FANCY, an upbeat nu-disco-infused piece of dance pop music. 

 

FANCY finds the duo celebrating those who value authenticity over luxury, showing that material gifts and lavish experiences mean little when compared to genuine connection and true love. A relatable message beautifully showcased through Liza's gorgeous vocals which are accompanied by an infectious production. This shout-out to everyone who wants to be loved just for who they are, no strings attached, is wrapped around a nostalgic production that pairs retro grooves with a modern twist to create the ultimate feel-good holiday banger. I am particularly fond of the groovy bass nicely intertwined with cool percussive elements, disco elements, rich electronic textures, steady beats and rhythms that come together to create a joyful, sun-soaked atmosphere!

Speaking about the song, Weston said,

I started this track a while back wanting to get a funky, nostalgic feel with a modern twist. Immediately, I knew it was about something shiny and fun while keeping a message with depth. I think people will have a fun time with the record while being able to sing with their special someone.

Liza added,

I had a lot of fun singing this record, as it felt like an alter ego of myself was unleashed in this world we created. Everyone wants to be someone’s fancy. Everyone wants to be loved and adorned. If one chooses to shower you with gifts, of course, they’re lovely, but there’s nothing better when a mutual feeling of liking someone is expressed.
