the theys and the thems Drops New Single ‘Try Again’

Mexican American artist the theys and the thems has just shared his brand new single Try Again, a bright, synth-infused alt-pop gem that tackles the complicated dynamics within a broken intimate relationship!

Out now via Club Sanguich Records, Try Again is one of those songs that instantly get me in a good, relaxed mood and longing for those chill weekends at home or out enjoying the sun. I am really enjoying the smooth vocals which glide effortlessly over the bright alt-pop production, instantly infusing it with a memorable dose of soul and emotion. I am also very fond of the killer bass and guitar plucks that are nicely intertwined with catchy beats and hazy, shimmering synths that come together to create a dreamy, laid-back atmosphere!

Speaking about the song, the artist said,

When I was finally able to feel secure in who I am, in my queer identity and outspoken advocacy. I was quickly hit with the realization that just because someone loves you doesn’t mean that they will be willing to see you for who you really are. While I truly believe that people can change and that it takes work to help others understand your perspective, sometimes it can be unsafe for you to take on that burden when your loved one is unwilling to listen and when their beliefs fundamentally disregard or even challenge your rights and existence.
