Pleasantville Share New Single ‘Time Bandit’
Pleasantville, the electrifying new band created by indie rocker, songwriter Aaron David Gleason and esteemed vocalist Emma Freeman, share their brand new single Time Bandit, the last single to be taken from their upcoming album, These Embers, out on July 13th via Brashtooth Records.
What I like the most about this song is how emotional and passionate Emma Freeman's vocals are, effortlessly capturing the raw emotion of Gleason's storytelling. Time Bandit was written about his dad and finds him sharing his struggles in his relationship with his dad, craving emotional attention, reflecting frustration and a mix of resentment and resignation. A message flawlessly conveyed through Emma's stunning vocals which are accompanied by killer guitar plucks seamlessly intertwined with subtle drums that buid up in pace and energy to match the raw emotion of their storytelling!
Speaking about the song, Aaron David Gleason said,
I wrote it about my Dad. I love him, he's injured and I get it, but it doesnt excuse everything. We're so close. He raised me. He's a Jester, a genius a gifted teacher and intellect-- and refuses to live in the real world sometimes. He's 88 now. Retired dancer and acting teacher. Taught me to be an artist. Taught me to dodge time. Wrote it for my bandmate to sing. Honored by her vocal.
