What I like the most about this song is its intimacy, raw emotion and vulnerability that is flawlessly conveyed through Meade's stellar, emotionally-charged vocal performance. Calloused is a song about realising that a love has run its course but still burns with unresolved emotion. You know it's time to let go yet you still hold on for one last goodbye - a beautiful exploration of how deeply love can hurt, even when it's no longer right. Apart from her stunning vocals I am particularly fond of the acoustic guitar plucks which are nicely intertwined with lush strings that come together to create an overall warm, intimate atmosphere packed with raw, honest emotion and soul from start to finish!
