The Peace Lilies Share New Single ‘Learn to Fly’
British indie folk-pop duo The Peace Lilies, consisting of Jacqui Dee and Gary Sanford, have just shared their brand new single Learn to Fly, a soothing blend of indie-folk/ alt-country elements!
What I like the most about this song is its warmth and how Jacqui Dee's vocals beautifully bring a depth of emotion and introspection to the production. Learn to Fly reflects those times in our lives when it feels like there is no hope of anything changing but a little glimmer of light exists behind the clouds waiting to shine again. A message of hope for anyone who is going through a tough moment in life, reminding them that things will get better and change and they will get out of it stronger. I do have many moments when I feel isolated and lost, feeling like nothing is going to change and I am going to stay stuck forever but there are some moments in life that give me hope and show me I can break free from that and "fly again".
Apart from those lovely, soothing vocals I am particularly fond of the intricate guitar lines that are beautifully intertwined with subtle rhythms and steady drum patterns that come together to create an overall warm, intimate atmosphere perfect for an introspective day home alone!
