Shimizu Unveils New Single ‘BxbyGirl’ ft. Giorgia-May
Shimizu, the brainchild of Brazilian-born, Berlin-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Rafa Mura, teams up with British artist Giorgia-May to delivery BxbyGirl, a UK Garage-infused piece of R&B music!
Out now via Lekker Collective, BxbyGirl is an anthem for female empowerment, exploring themes of feminine energy, women's rights, and bodily autonomy. I am loving Giorgia-May's rich, soulful vocals and how hypnotising they sound, effortlessly drawing our attention to their empowering storytelling. Accompanying her luscious vocals and harmonies we have groovy UK Garage rhythms that come together to create an overall warm, laid-back atmosphere perfect for a relaxing weekend and summer sunset parties to come!
Speaking about the song, Giorgia-May said,
I wanted to write a short R&B song that was to the point and felt somehow empowering. As women, we don't just get to feel safe in our bodies—it’s something we have to constantly learn and practice. We face rules and regulations that restrict us, society pits us against each other, we earn less than men, and we are continuously subjected to harassment and control over our autonomy.
