Kat Brix Unveils New Single ‘How to Be Alone’
Danish pop artist Kat Brix shares her brand new single How to Be Alone, an upbeat, drum'n'bass-infused dance pop gem!
Co-written with Brandon Beal and produced in collaboration with William Meyrick, How to Be Alone finds the talented artist opening a raw, drum’n’bass-infused, and deeply personal chapter in her musical universe. Her third single to date, following In Love with a Psycho and Make It on My Own, How to Be Alone strips away the ironic facade as a way to make room for true vulnerability. It revolves around being caught in an unhealthy attachment pattern — repeating relationships and dynamics that feel familiar, even when you know they’re not good for you. A relatable storytelling beautifully conveyed through her dulcet and confident vocals which are accompanied by upbeat drum'n'bass rhythms nicely intertwined with lush synths and infectious melodies that make this song perfect for a late-night drive and for those moments when I want to dance the pain away!
Speaking about the song, Kat Brix said,
All my songs are personal, but ‘How to Be Alone’ is especially vulnerable for me because it’s not wrapped in any kind of self-irony or humor. It’s just pure, raw emotion. I really feel like I’m laying my heart bare, and to me, it’s the equivalent of showing someone my diary. I wrote it while I felt drained, sad, and completely out of touch with myself. I can still get emotional when I hear it — because it touches something in me that I’m still processing.
