AMERY Unveils New Single ‘Electric Love’

Belgian-Rwandan singer-songwriter AMERY is back with his brand new single Electric Love, a bold, soul-barring alt pop song! 

 

Produced by his longtime collaborator James Lowland, Electric Love is a raw and radiant exploration of what it means to let go of fear and finally choose yourself. This gem marks the beggining of AMERY's most authentic era yet as he passionately opens up about letting go of toxic relationships and fear, shedding old versions of yourself and stepping into the light. I am a fan of his vocals and how passionate and soulful his delivery is, instantly making me feel each and every single word he is singing. 

 

Accompanying his gorgeous vocals (which float between vulnerability and power), we are gifted with ethereal organ chords in the intro that are then paired with killer electric and acoustic guitar riffs nicely intertwined with steady drum patterns and lush bass that build up in pace and energy bursting into an explosive chorus perfect to sing along to!

Speaking about the song, AMERY said,

This song is about choosing yourself, without needing someone’s approval to remind you of your worth. I was living in a bubble I felt safe in and it suddenly burst. Everyone in my family was going their own way and I felt this deep void. I started to look for comfort and distraction in other places and people, but I realized I was constantly running away from the truth, and straight into depression and toxic relationships. I had to let go of everything that was holding back my personal growth and find my light again. I wrote Electric Love while I was at my lowest, dreaming of the day I’d finally break free. It carried me forward.
