Amanda Cy Shares New Single ‘Ride’

Stockholm-based singer and songwriter Amanda Cy shares her brand new single Ride, a super smooth, sun-soaked gem taken from her highly anticipated upcoming EP, LOVEGRUNGE. 

 

Amanda Cy's vocals are what got me hooked to the song and super excited to want to share it with you guys as her delivery is quite effortless and soothing, yet packed with raw emotion from start to finish. Her smooth tone and lovely falsetto capture our attention to her relatable storytelling about the uncertainty of love and self-worth. The laid-back atmosphere of the song contrasts with the deeper lyrical content of being worried and somewhat desperate which makes for quite a memorable listening experience.

Speaking about the song, Amanda Cy said,

Ride was written in a beautiful house by the water, and I think you can hear the sunshine in the song. After making all this gritty and grungy music, we realized we were missing a softer side to the EP. I was deep into my SZA, Steve Lacy, and Chiild obsession at the time—so it was exciting to create something new with those influences in mind. It’s about questioning why someone would want to be with you and needing that partner to be absolutely sure before you get too attached. It sounds dreamy and laidback on the surface, but the lyrics are actually quite desperate and worried—just like me! People always assume I’m super chill, but internally, I’m a nervous wreck.
