Stockholm-based, Australian singer and songwriter Hazlett unveils his brand new single The First Train Home, a melancholy-infused piece of indie-folk music out now via Nettwerk Music Group.
The First Train Home is a spellbinding song about the subtle duality of caring, the push and pull, a message flawlessly delivered through Hazlett's dream-like vocals. You can really feel the raw, honest emotion pouring from his heartfelt delivery which is enhanced by the heartwarming production. I am particularly fond of the glistening guitar throughout the song and how it is guided softly by pedal steel to set an ethereal but yet folky tone before erupting into an honest stomp-driven plea. This is such a great song perfect for an introspective day home alone or for those long drives with no set destination. A dreamy piece of music that you can check out below!
Speaking about the song, Hazlett said,
There’s something sad about knowing you’ll never see yourself the way someone special sees you, but there’s also something poetic in wanting to try. This song is about that. How there’s a push and pull, conflict and a calm, when you see magic in each other but not always yourself.
